Support the Local Economy, Drink Local

Who needs the aggrevation of the Turnpike or the Parkway, the Bridges or the Tolls when you can stay local and drink local in Philly this weekend. The edge of the University City neighborhood to be Local 44. You know 'em, You love ''s Brendan, Leigh, and a cast of thousands of beers and their fanatics. Stop in, stay for an hour or stay for the day. If the weather cooperates, the windows will be open and you'll have a hard time leaving. Doesn't matter, you can rinse and repeat and do it all again on Sunday and Monday. I've been assured that you don't have to be a local from the neighborhood to be welcome at this Locals Only Event. I'm going to be out of town this weekend! Not happy about it. Hopefully Toronto has beer that's as good.

Jonny, that's totally lame. We're canceling the event now. Thanks. (Go to the Beer Bistro in Toronto, it's awesome). PS: It is official, we ARE able to get a keg of the Triumph Kellerbier! ETA, tomorrow! Cheers! Leigh

The Iron Hill selection will actually be Eddy, not Heywood. Heywood is the Cannibal wort fermented with 100% Brett in a wooden Barrel. Eddy is Cannibal fermented to terminal gravity in stainless then transferred to the Heywood Barrel where the Brett finishes it. The Eddy is less Phenolic and more complex due to the combination of Belgian yeast and Brett character.

Leigh/Jonny, +1 on the Beer Bistro...even though I've never been, I've tasted the kitchen's talent when Brian Morin cooked for the Cantillon dinner last month at Monk's...GET THE BEET SALAD!!

Chris, duly noted and adjusted on TBL...might see you there later tonight...or sometime this weekend
