What the heck is a NaBloPoMo?

NaBloPoMo, you say?

I've heard of it in the past and really hadn't really paid it much mind. After a sporadic summer of posting here at The Brew Lounge and attempting to find the proper voice and approach to my Washington Times Communities column, October (kicked off by GABF material) saw a jump back up in posting frequency.

Far be it, though, for me to judge my satisfaction by quantity rather than quality. I'd rather make one very useful and informative post a month rather than post meaningless drivel to stay relevant -- that's for tweeters and bloggers...ouch!

So what's changed now that I see November is the big NAtionalBLOgPOstingMOnth? Really dunno. I still cringe when I hear the word blog or am referred to as a blogger. I know, I know, you'd think that after 6+ years of doing this thing, I'd ease up on my disdain for this word (Will Ferrell's movie, Elf, running through my brain: Call me elf (blogger) one more time!!). But, it's not going away. The most recent Ale Street News contained a brief capsule focused on me. The column was entitled: "Blogger starts Brewlounge".

Two things driving me here, I suppose. One is something like this can help drive me back to some form of regularity and inspire some creative thinking along the way.

Then, there's the selfish goal of continuing to drive more eyeballs to both of my venues. If this can help, then it seems like a no-brainer to give it a shot.

I saw someone mention this NaBloPoMo just a day or two ago (just recalled that it was Tom over at YGF), so there's really no preparation that's gone into this. I'll just get this thing started and see where it goes.

Instead of cluttering up this post with the true content of my first NaBloPoMo submission, I'll ask that you click through this link and we'll be on our way.
