Weekly Brew Bits Update: 4/2/12

Haven't done a ton of reading over the past week. Trying to wade through some writing; seems to be the thing I should be focused more on these days. Here are a few things I tripped upon along the way that I thought you, too, my find of interest.

PHILADELPHIA
~ Philly Beer Scene reported of a new venture that we'd been hearing about for a while forthcoming from the good folks at Good Dog Bar.

~ Emilio Mignucci at Di Bruno Bros. thinks that beer goes pretty darn well with cheese. He wants you to know more in this 94 second video. I like the way he thinks.

EASTERN PA, NJ, DE, AND OTHER NEARBY PARTS OF MID-ATLANTIC
~ Iron Hill put tickets on sale for their incredibly popular annual festival at their Media location. Wanna know more about it? Check back in my archives with this link for pictures and words. Poor me; this year, I'll be in Belgium instead.

~ Big and Good things happening in the Lehigh Valley with Weyerbacher's expansion plans.

THE REST OF PLANET BEER
~ A fun trip through beer with Martha & Sam. This is certainly one of the less awkward beer segments in mainstream media to watch.

~ The Yet-To-Be-Named is now named Crux Fermentation Project. Just got some scoop this week from the brewery and am looking forward to learning more about this new project that includes former longtime Deschutes brewmaster, Larry Sidor.

~ Still haven't figured out everything going on here with this funky release from Shmaltz/He'brew. But I'm intrigued and want to learn more. In the meantime, here's a link for you to do just that.

~ Breweries are UP! Volume is UP! Dollars are UP! Great news being reported by the Brewers Association.
