Victory: Sapphire Bock

I was out for dinner with the family at Victory Brewing in Downingtown, PA. Tasted their braumeister pils and then a Sapphire Bock. Enjoyed the Sapphire Bock immensely. My wife thinks it was 7.9%. I just remember a smooth crisp full bodied beer that isn't too hoppy. Has anybody else had it? Looks like it is a very recent addition to their taplist.

What style is this? St. V. is a Doppelbock and St. B. is a Hellerbock. This an in-between-er?

Good question. I thought St. B. was a Maibock? This is lighter in color almost like a heavier pils. No roasted malt. Hops are definately there, but, balanced out well with the malt. I have a growler of it that I plan on tasting tonight.

And Joe said the Saphire is a one-off Bock with all Saphir hops, as was thought.

Cheers!

Very well then :-) Nice little thread there.

Bryan was thinking that saphir hops had something to do with it. Can't wait to crack that growler.

Thanks Loren.
