Grab a Beer; Football Season is Upon Us

The football season is upon us once again. Football of the oblong type, that is, here in the United States. While I've enjoyed professional football and suffered my life through season after (usual) season-ending misery in my home turf of Philadelphia, there's no one that I know personally who analyzes and understands the game of football (and suffers likewise) better than my good friend Lloyd Vance. Lloyd is an accredited member of the Pro Football Writers of America. He has been doing college draft analysis and position-by-position reviews of professional teams, particularly the Philadelphia Eagles, for as long as I can remember. He has worked his way up through the ranks and now lists some the industry's experts on his speed dial list and will be taking in many NFL games this season from the Lincoln Financial Field press box in Philadelphia. He is often called upon for his insights on various media formats from radio, to TV, dedication events, and the like. As a nod, in part, to his continued exhaustive work on the History of the Black Quarterback, Lloyd contributed to last year's release of ESPN Books' Third And A Mile. Why do I bring all of this to your attention, you may ask? Well, for all of you full disclosure types, Lloyd is a very good friend and he deserves all of the attention that he gets for his football expertise. Plus, I know that during autumn weekends many of you enjoy nothing more than getting your weekend chores out of the way so that you can sit down to watch your favorite college or pro football teams. More often than not, you're also reaching for a decent beer from your fridge. While you're preparing the food and beer for the big game, make sure you get some of the on- and off-field stories over at Lloyd's Taking It To The House. And, be sure to drop him your honest opinions of his NFL 2008 predictions...Tony Romo??? uh, please say it won't be so!
