Weekly Beer Calendar Update: June 13 - June 19

Annnnnd, we're back. Back to normal. Or at least as normal as Philly prefers normal. Here are the beer events I've found awaiting us at local bars and breweries over the next week.

@Bistro On Bridge, Phoenixville, Pa.--- Thu. 6/13 - Maine Beer Company Tap Takeover (7 p.m.; $PAYG for Peeper, Mo, Lunch, and Mean Old Tom.)

@Iron Hill, Maple Shade, NJ--- Wed. 6/19 - Iron Brewer (7 p.m.-10 p.m.; $PAYG for the release of this year’s Iron Brewer winner: Buccaneer’s Bounty. This coconut and sumatran coffee infused brown ale was formulated and guest-brewed by Mark Furfaro, Shawn Kaderabek, and Martin Webb of the Barley Legal Homebrewers.)

@Kraftwork, Philadelphia, Pa.--- Mon. 6/17 - Meet the Brewers: Nøgne Ø ($PAYG to drink like a Viking and meet owner Kjetil Jikiun.)

@Victory Brewing Company, Downingtown, Pa.--- Sun. 6/16 - Pints For Pops (10 a.m.; $PAYG for special breakfast menu additions and all Dads will receive a free pint glass with the purchase of a .5L beer.)

@World Café Live, Wilmington, Del.--- Thu. 6/13 - Victory Happy Hour Tap Takeover (4 p.m.-7 p.m.; $PAYG for taps dominated by beers from Victory and acoustic soul rock performance by Twin Ghost.)


Special One-offs or Debuts, Anniversaries/Parties, Festivals, and other noteworthy events
@2nd & Locust Streets, Harrisburg, Pa.--- Sat. 6/15 - Harrisburg Brewers Fest (12:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.; $10-$50 for the opportunity for craft-brew lovers to enjoy and sample 70+ products from some of the regions finest breweries. A portion of the ticket price is tax deductible and all proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Central Pennsylvania.)

@Iron Hill, Newark, Del.--- Thu. 6/13 - White Clay IPA Release Party (5 p.m.-7 p.m.; $PAYG for the release of White Clay IPA—one of Newark's most popular IPAs.)
@Iron Hill, Lancaster, Pa.--- Sun. 6/16 - Honey Do Wit Beer Release (11 a.m.-7 p.m.; $PAYG for a special Father’s Day menu and the release of Honey Do Wit.)

@Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain, Scranton, Pa.--- Sat. 6/15 - Steamtown Beer and Music Festival (12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.; $50-$89 for over 50 different breweries from around the corner and across the country. The focus of festival is the promotion of craft beer and the brewers that create them. This event is the perfect opportunity for beer aficionados, beer lovers, and the casual beer drinker to speak to brand representatives and the brewers responsible for some of their favorite brews. Musical stylings of Muscle Shoal Revival, The Menzingers, Alien Ant Farm, and Fuel.)

@Iron Abbey, Horsham, Pa.--- Sun. 6/16 - Father's Day Brunch (10 a.m.-2 p.m.; $PAYG for some rare brews on tap.)

@Iron Hill, North Wales, Pa.--- Sat. 6/15 - Father’s Appreciation Beer Brunch (11 a.m.-2 p.m.; $45 for a four-course meal hosted by head brewer Vince DesRosiers and served with Belgian Witbier, Saison, Wee Heavy, and Breakfast Stout.)

@The Sidecar Bar, Philadelphia, Pa.--- Thu. 6/13 - Southern Fried Hippie Hoedown (3 p.m.; $PAYG for southern fried hippie food, twelve beers, a Grateful Dead tribute band, and chance to meet Terrapin brewmaster Brian "Spike" Buckowski.)


Homebrewing, Charity, Schooling, and Miscellanies
@Iron Hill, West Chester, Pa.--- Fri. 6/14-Sun. 6/16 - Pints for Prostates (5 p.m.-9 p.m.; $PAYG for JPA and Cask-Conditioned JPA, a collaboration beer with 3rd Wave Brewing Company. The weekend’s proceeds of JPA sales will benefit Pints for Prostates.)

@Total Wine, Claymont, Del.--- Thu. 6/13 - Hooray for IPA beer class (6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.; $15 for tastings of English IPA, Belgian IPA, American IPA, American Double/Imperial IPA, and other hoppy goodness.)
