Bock Bock, Who's There...Bryson & Guyer

A new magazine has debuted and covers the "Art, Culture, & Lifestyle" of the Main Line swath of affluent suburbs west of Philadelphia. The publisher is CBR Media (Andrew Cantor) which is responsible for Bucks Magazine, focusing on the northern suburbs of Philadelphia primarily Bucks County.

Tucked away nicely on pages 110-111 is a tribute by Lew Bryson to the bock style of beer and what local Philadelphia breweries like Victory and Sly Fox do to admirably prop it up. Also mentioned are Stoudt's and Troegs, both further west from the Main Line. The sidebar article spotlights Matt Guyer and his fine product that he peddles up at Beer Yard.

No word on whether beer will hold a regular spot in the bi-monthly magazine. Our consolation is that, while the article came after wine and food articles, it did at least place before the article on brewing tea and "The Last Word" on page 114. But, seriously, progress indeed. Nice job, guys (uh, guyer?)
